Entries, runners wristband, bibs, and timing chips are non-transferable. Violation will result in disqualification and no refund of entry fee will be entertained.
According to the guidelines and regulation from the HKSAR Government, and by making reference to the latest arrangements of other international marathons, all runners in the physical run are required to have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine recognised by the HKSAR Government on or before 10 October 2021 (i.e. at least 14 days before the race).
Participants are also required to submit in person on the runner’s pack collection day 1) the COVID-19 vaccination records and 2) a health declaration form which confirms that they have not stayed in places outside Hong Kong in the past 21 days. Additionally, runners must have taken a COVID-19 nucleic acid test recognised by the government within 72 hours before the race.
Participants must collect the runner’s pack in person at the designated locations assigned by the Organiser.
The Hong Kong Association of Athletics Affiliates Limited (“the Organiser”) reserves the right to disqualify, exclude any person from the race, and to take disciplinary action to applicants who provide incorrect personal data/details on the entry form, including those who have been banned from competitions under the World Athletics (WA) jurisdiction, or who have been suspected of having taken banned substances. No refund of entry fee will be entertained under any circumstance.
Participants who are with infants, child aged under 16 or who do not wear the valid bib of Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2021 are not allowed to enter the race course. Those who violate this rule will be asked to leave the course immediately.
Participants will be disqualified if they do not start at the designated race category and start time assigned by the Organiser. No result and certificate will be issued to those participants.
No pets or any form of wheel-run objects of transport, e.g. wheelchair, bicycles, skates, trolleys, shoes with built-in or attached rollers, etc, are allowed on the course.
Dangerous goods (i.e. offensive weapons, flammable, explosive agents or materials/objects which obstruct other participants, etc) are strictly prohibited. Those who violate this rule will be asked to leave the course immediately and such cases might be reported to the Law Enforcement Agency.
Participants must not use any external auxiliary equipment in the race (except prosthetic limb(s)).
Participants must retire and leave the race course immediately, if requested to do so by any member of the race officials, medical staff, race director, referees or security staff.
In accordance with the WA Competition Rule 144, the Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any participant who has proven to have received assistance during the race.
For winners or potential winners wishing to appeal the results, appeals must be submitted in writing to the Result Referee at the finish area, with a deposit of HKD800 or USD100 within 30 minutes after the official result announcement. The deposit will be forfeited if the appeal is not successful or is withdrawn. The Organiser reserves the right not to entertain any dispute or appeal submitted thereafter.
For non-winners, any disputes regarding their personal results must be submitted in writing within 7 days after the results are announced on the official Marathon website.
The Organiser reserves the right to reject applications of participants who violate any of the official competition rules for all future Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathons or races organised by the Organiser.
In the case of discrepancies between the Chinese and English versions, the English version shall prevail. The Organiser reserves the right to interpret and amend the above rules.
