To avoid running under humid and hot weather conditions and reducing the risks of injury, early starts would be favourable to distance running. Moreover, it is absolutely essential to minimise the impact to the public transport system and to ensure the courses can be resumed for normal traffic as early as possible. As races start early in the morning, participants are reminded to keep their noise level to the minimal to minimise the disturbance to nearby residents.
The Organiser is working closely with public transport service providers for arranging special early services on the Race Day morning, from designated areas to the Starts in Tsim Sha Tsui and Island Eastern Corridor (Near Central-Wan Chai Bypass). Participants are reminded to check the details of the special transportation arrangement before the Race Day. The details will be announced in the “Special Transportation Arrangement” of the Runner’s Guide (Event Handbook) published on the Marathon website closer to the Race Day.
The objective of this arrangement is to avoid congestion caused by the variation of pace of different participants. With this allocation, every runner can race under the most favourable conditions and achieve their best.
