Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2009
Receives Overwhelming Response

The Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2009, to be held on 8 February next year, has met with overwhelming response.  Marathon organiser, the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association (HKAAA) announced today that entries for five race categories will close immediately.  HKAAA urges all runners to submit their applications as early as possible.

Piles of applications were received well ahead of the Early Bird deadline on 31 October 2008.  With immediate effect, the HKAAA will close the enrolment to the 10km Run 1 (Start Time: 5:35am), 10km Run 2 (Start Time: 6:00am), 10km Run 3 (Start Time: 6:30am), Half Marathon Challenge (Start Time: 6:50am) and Half Marathon Run 1 (Start Time: 7:10am) of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2009.  The remaining two category races, including the Full Marathon and 10km Challenge, are also approaching the entry quota limit.  Runners are encouraged to submit their applications quickly and before the close of entry on 31 December 2008.  However, the Marathon organiser reserves the right to bring the deadline date forward should the remaining race categories reach their entry quota limit.

Entry forms are available at the HKAAA office (Room 2015, Olympic House, 1 Stadium Path, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong) and all Standard Chartered Bank branches in Hong Kong. Applicants can also register online at the official website at www.hkmarathon.com. For further information, please visit the official website or call the official hotline on 2577 0800.
