Standard Chartered HK Marathon 10th Anniversary Press Conference

Ladies and Gentlemen, Friends from the Media,

Thank you for taking the time from your busy schedules to join us today as we announce the 10th Anniversary Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon.

We sponsored our first marathon in 1997, with just over 1,000 runners participating. Since then, the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon has grown into the largest participatory sporting event in Hong Kong, and last year played host to over 33,000 runners.

This year, our 10th Anniversary, is a huge milestone for our Marathon and for Standard Chartered Bank. In many ways, our sponsorship of the Hong Kong Marathon parallels Standard Chartered's commitment and dedication to the community of Hong Kong. We are here for the long run, and we are proud to be the Right Partner to all of our customers and athletes participating in the race.

To celebrate this milestone 10th anniversary of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon, we have organised a wide variety of events and activities to mark this milestone with great fanfare. The Marathon is a great event for the Hong Kong community and there's something for all of us to enjoy.

So whether you're running in the race, or cheering on your family and friends, please come down on 12 February 2006 and show your support for Hong Kong's signature sporting event, the 10th Anniversary Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon!
