B) Registration and Acceptance

  1. Where can I get the entry form?

    To avoid postal delay, participants are advised to register via the real-time online registration platform. You will receive instant confirmation of registration.

    Entry forms can be downloaded from the official website. Limited copies of entry form are available at HKAAA office ( Address: Room 2015, Olympic House, 1 Stadium Path, So Kon Po, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong) and Marathon website (with online registration) www.hkmarathon.com. You can also contact the Marathon hotline at (852) 2577 0800 for entry forms through fax.

  2. How do I register for the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon?

    2. By Post

    If you prefer to register by post, please complete the entry form and submit it together with the entry fee to the Marathon Secretariat (P.O. Box 79494, Mongkok Post Office, Kowloon, Hong Kong). Payment can be made by one of the following methods:

    Payment by Credit Card - Please complete credit card details on the entry form.

    Payment by Cheque - A crossed cheque made payable to the "Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association Limited" should be submitted with completed entry form. Cheque payments are subject to successful transaction.

    Cash Deposit in Bank - Please deposit the entry fee to the following Standard Chartered Bank account:
    A/C Name: Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association Limited
    A/C No.: 433-0-007436-5

    ORIGINAL cash deposit slip should be submitted with completed entry form. Please keep a copy of the payment slip for future reference.

  3. For how long will the entry period of Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2012 last? What is the entry fee?

    The entry period has already commenced. Entry fee will be HK$300 for local runners or US$40 for overseas runners.

    Entry is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Organizer reserves the right to close entries before the deadline without notice once the race is full.

  4. I have applied through online registration, but am not sure if my application is successful. Can I submit the entry form by post as well?

    Please submit your entry once only, either online or by post. No refunds of duplicated entries will be arranged.

  5. How can I verify that I am registered?

    An acceptance letter will be sent by post to all successful applicants before 10 January 2012.

    You can also visit our website to check your entry status through entry searching.

  6. If I do not receive the acceptance letter, how can I pick up my runner's pack?

    If you do not receive an acceptance letter by 13 January 2012, you should call our service hotline at (852) 2577 0800 or send an email to the Marathon Secretariat for assistance before 18 January 2012, if your application is successful, you can approach the enquiry counter on the day of Expo, bring along your ID card or passport for verification.

  7. Will my application be automatically accepted if I register before 30 Nov 2011?

    The normal entry deadline is set on 30 Nov 2011. However there is quota for each race on "first-come-first-served" basis. The Organizer reserves the right to close entries before the deadline without further notice once the race is full.

  8. What does the entry fee include?

    The entry fee includes:

    a) An official T-shirt and a souvenir (There is no guarantee that your ordered size will be available, and the T-shirt sizes given to participants will be subject to the availability in stock);
    b) Runner's Pack - race number cloth & pins, baggage bag & tag, timing chip (except yellow chip owners) and runner's guide;
    c)

    En-Route - distilled water will be available at approximately every 5km along the marathon route. Banana and chocolate will also be available at approximately 25km and 30km along the course for Full Marathon;

    d) Services: First Aid service at start area, at water points along the course & at finish area, baggage deposit and physiotherapy services;
    e) Post Race: A certificate with your time will be sent to you by post if you finish within the specified time limit in race applied;
    f) Finisher medals will be given to Full Marathon runners who finish within the specified time limits.

  9. Can I enter now and pay later?

    No. Your entry will only be processed (subject to quota availability) after full payment of entry fee is made.

  10. What do I do if I cannot participate after I have registered?

    Unless it is for medical reasons, whereby you should write to us with the original copy of a Doctor's Certificate, the entry fee is non-refundable. Please note that both race number and timing chip are non-transferable. You must NOT give your race number and the chip to someone else to run for you as both you and he/she will be disqualified. No result will be given.

  11. Can I change race?

    In case of a special need to change race after an entry has been accepted, a written application must be made on or before 30 Nov 2011, stating clearly the reason/s for the change of race. This should be accompanied by a cheque of HK$50 made payable to "Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association Limited" as administration fee. Consideration will only be made subject to quota availability of the race applied.

    The organizer will assess the applications, and cheques will be returned to unsuccessful applicants.
