L) General Information

  1. Can my friend/s run with me?

    Only those who are officially registered and issued with race number can take part in the race. All others will be taken out from the race by course marshals.

  2. Can my dog run with me?

    No pets allowed, including but not limited to dogs and cats.

  3. The route requires participants to run through the Western Harbour Tunnel. Is the air quality inside the Tunnel good enough for running?

    Yes, a professional air-quality company will be engaged to monitor the air-quality inside the tunnel throughout the races. The southbound tube will be closed from 12:45 am on race day. Sufficient fresh air will be pumped into the Tunnel. Air quality in the past has shown that it is suitable for running events to be conducted in the Tunnel.

  4. Are there any safety concerns with the participants running along side cars on the roads?

    The entire route of the race will be closed to traffic, except for emergency vehicles such as ambulances, police cars, and official cars. It should be normally safe as long as the participants follow the official route. With the help of the Police and Transport Departments, different sections of roads will be closed for a specified period of time to allow participants to pass through.

    To ensure the emergency vehicles can reach at the accident locations without any delay, participants are advised not to run along the emergency vehicle lane during the race and follow the instructions given by the race officials.

    The government authorities has the right to close the route stop the race and / or change of the route in the case of emergency.

  5. What about insurance?

    Participation is at your own risk. We strongly advise participants to train properly and have adequate preparation to ensure that they are fit enough to race the distance they have entered. Participants are also advised to seek medical advice before the race to check their physical conditions and to take out personal medical insurance before the race.

  6. Is there any public viewing area for spectators / supporters?

    Public are allowed to enter the public viewing area in Victoria Park through Gate 3 & 4. No supporters and public will be allowed to enter Victoria Park from Gate 14, 15, 16 & 17 during the races. (Please refer to the Runner's Guide for the map of Victoria Park)
