J) Prize and Prize Presentation Ceremony

  1. Are prizes presented according to official ("gun") or net time?

    Awards will be presented according to gun times and this is in accordance with the IAAF rules for Marathons. Net times are for personal information.

  2. What divisions of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon will receive awards?

    Trophies will be presented to the first three winners of 10km Challenge, Half Marathon Challenge and Full Marathon Challenge.

  3. What is the prize money?

    Total Prize money for Full Marathon is USD227,000 and a total special award of HK$144,000 will be awarded to the winners of various categories who are Permanent Residents of Hong Kong.

  4. How to define a Permanent Resident of Hong Kong?

    Permanent Residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region shall be persons who are qualified to obtain Hong Kong Permanent Identity Cards in accordance with the Basic Law Chapter III, Article 24 of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

  5. Where and when will the Prize Presentation Ceremony be conducted?

    The Prize Presentation Ceremony (trophies) will commence at the Finish area (Victoria Park) roughly from 7:30 am onwards on the race day (5 February 2012). All award winners will be invited to receive their awards.

  6. Where and when do the prize winners report to the officials?

    Winners are requested to report to the officials 20 minutes before the presentation at the Winners Booth located at Finish (Victoria Park). If winners are not available to attend the presentation ceremony on time, the Organizer will arrange an official to stand in for the winner on the winner's platform to receive the prize on winner's behalf without seeking further notice.

  7. If I dispute and appeal regarding the results on race day, what should I do?

    For prize winners or potential winners, disputes and appeals must be made at the Finish within 30 minutes of the published results on the results board on-site or immediately after the prize presentation, whichever is earlier.

    For all other participants, disputes and appeals regarding the results must be submitted in writing within 7 days after the race day. The organizer reserves the rights not to entertain any dispute or appeal after 12 February 2012.
