Participants must be aged 20 or above and MUST have successfully completed at least
one race (10km or longer) in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon or any local/
overseas race in the past 3 years

Awards:
|
1. Total prize money for the Marathon will be increased to USD258,400.
2. Time Bonus will be awarded to the participants who can finish the Marathon race within the prescribed time.
3. Special Prize Money will be awarded to the top 3 winners of each category in Marathon Challenge who are Permanent Residents of Hong Kong.
4. Special Incentive Award will be awarded to the Marathon Challenge participants who are Permanent Residents of Hong Kong and achieve the prescribed times.
5. Trophies will be presented to the top three winners in of each category Marathon Challenge race. Awards are presented according to Official Times (Gun Time).
6. Finishing medals will be given to Marathon participants who finish within the time limit of 6 hours.

Certificates:
|
1. Certificates of Achievement will be sent
by post to participants who finish the race within the specified time limit.
2. Progress Award certificates will be sent
by post to participants who complete the same race as in the 2012 event but with better
times.

|
Souvenirs:
|
Each participant will be given an official T-shirt and medallion etc.
