Participants should begin with shorter distance:

  • First-time participants for the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2013 should begin with 10km.
  • Runners who completed the 10km within 1 hour 25 minutes in the last marathon can aim for their first Half Marathon this year. Yet, they should adopt a well-planned and progressive training program.
  • Runners who completed their Half Marathon within 2 hour 30 minutes in the last Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon can aim for their first Marathon. It will be a big challenge to their body system. Thus, they should plan well ahead for their training and progressively building up their mileage.
